(1) Sleep early and get 8.5 hours of sleep
The sun usually sets at about 7PM in our country. Go to sleep at 10PM, so you use artificial lights for only 3 hours per day. You got to wake up early for work anyway, and now you save money while maintaining your health. Imagine the cost savings if all family members do this.
Good sleep is crucial to your health. A consistent 8.5 hours keeps you healthier than your peers of the same age, boost your daily performance, maintains your weight properly by lowering food cravings (regulating hormones Leptin and Ghrelin), and boosts learning abilities and memory. A person who can consistently sleep 8.5 hours need not take a nap or take caffeine to keep awake. Sleep is your body’s growth and repair module, and the first pillar of health. It also help regulate your emotions. That cranky boss at work? She probably don’t sleep enough.

(2) Shower with the heater off
Did you know the water heater is a major factor in your utilities bills? I resent the exorbitant utilities bills too. Now, you can save some money by not flipping the water heater switch during your showers.
Cold showers are healthier for you. They boost your immune system, boost your resistance to cold, amidst other health improvements. Some athletes have begun to embrace the cold as a secret weapon to boost their performance naturally. “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” is absolutely accurate in this case. On the common level, ice bath businesses, as a far extreme and effective alternative to cold showers, are popping up all over the world, proving their popularity and acceptance today.
How long does it take to get used to cold showers? It’s only about a week or two. Get through the initial shock; it is only because you are used to warm showers. Start with 30 seconds of cold after your regular shower by turning the temperature down to 25 degrees or below. Then build it up to 2 minutes. Eventually you can do purely cold showers. Give yourself 14 days to see some benefits. An apple and a cold shower a day will keep the doctor away.
Integrate these two into your new habits, better yet your whole family’s, and you could be healthier together, and see a reduction in bills at the same time. A win for your health, and for your wallet.
